I was trying to get a photo where the now derelict shipyard showed through the photo of the working version, which didn't exactly work (although you can see the hills). I also became slightly obsessed with the chap looking back at the photographer and had to keep reminding myself that he wasn't actually looking at me...

Up the Clyde on a Crane

Here are some photos from the top of the Titan Crane in Clydebank (for photos from the ground see this entry). It didn't sway around like the Science Centre Tower did, which was nice, but I spent the whole time scurrying round the edges where you were actually standing on an openwork steel grid on the crane, rather than the middle where you were standing on an openwork steel grid over 150ft of nothing...


And some shots of the giant cogs and things in the wheelhouse (which had a solid floor all the way over - excellent).
