Halloween Music

I was at Nice N Sleazy on Saturday night to photograph a gig by Magazine Gap. I was there kind of early and it was a bit quiet to start with......but soon livened up. Most of the city was enthusiastically embracing the fancy dress theme and I spotted a tellytubby rumaging through a bin, a fortune teller (complete with portable booth) and (my personal favourite) a chap wearing a t-shirt with "Fe 26" on the sleeve and a kind of pentagon shape on the front, whom I took to be Iron Man...
The Blues Brothers listening to heavy metal played by skeletons:

(I ran into the drummer before they went on who was worrying that his outfit was a bit short and only reached his knees, but since he was sitting down it didn't really matter...)

The guys from Magazine Gap were a bit taken aback at the level of costumed-ness (apparently it's not a big thing in England) but there aren't many bands who can claim to have a big Muppet following...

More (sensible) photos to follow shortly....

I can see in the dark

Fellow shutterbug Iain was round earlier to have a look at the ins and outs of Lightroom (or as many of them as I know since I never RTFM). He also let me have a go at an IR converted camera with f1.2 lens which has fantastically narrow depth of field, with which I managed to take this less than fantastic shot that makes him look like his head is floating in mid air (suitably Halloween-ish though, I suppose).

Plus a much less disembodied one of me (the strange, staring upwards poses were to provide catchlights in the eyes to focus on...)
