National Poetry Day

I was invited along to the launch of the new St. Mungo's Mirrorball website today, which took place at the top of the Glasgow Science Centre tower. I've never been up it before, having a fear of spindly heights (i.e. those not firmly attached to hills or large rocks) but it seemed like too bizarre and interesting an opportunity to miss. It was really good fun, although a trifle scary, particularly as it was quite windy today and the the tower sways! So between that and the shaking of my legs it's a miracle I got any photos to come out at all...

I'm very taken by the new clock they've just aquired at Corpus Christi in Cambridge. There's a wee video where the inventor explains it all here, although it wasn't actually working just there (the video, not the clock) so try the BBC one here too...
