Apparently one of the lecturers at the Lab recently joined Churchill College because he thought it was an entirely secular institution. So he was very annoyed to find out that it does have a chapel, albeit a very small one hidden away at the far end of the college playing fields (most people didn't think there should be one when the college was built).
But in light of the recent hamster-posting incident I think we can conclude that the college's solution to the chapel problem was not a wise one. None of the colleges with more integral chapels, nor the one with none at all (Wolfson) have been involved in any similar scenarios. So I think it's clear that building a chapel and then trying to conceal it under a compost heap sends out mixed messages leading to moral turpitude and rodent abuse.
Although, going on my past experience of living in a house containing hamsters, mailing is too good for them...
